The Old Dominion University Intercollegiate Foundation, better known to our loyal fans as The Big Blue Club, is the primary fundraising arm of Old Dominion University Athletics. The Big Blue club raises money for athletic scholarships and other iniiatives. Since the Athletic Department receives no tax money for any phase of operations, the important financial support of the Big Blue Club enables our programs to compete on a national level. Over the years, Old Dominion has achieved much national success in our athletic program. The Monarchs and Lady Monarchs have captured twenty-four national championships and four individual titles. Whether in the classroom or on the courts and playing fields, our athletes succeed. An impressive eighty-six percent of student athletes who have exhausted their eligibility graduate, a number far above the national average. There are many benefits of being a donor to the Big Blue Club. One of the most important is providing a quality education to a young man or woman who has chosen Old Dominion. Your contribution plays a direct role in continuing our tradition of excellence and ensuring our future success. The Old Dominion University Intercollegiate Foundation (ODUIF) is a tax exempt, charitable organization under section 501-C-3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. As such, gifts to the Foundation are eligible for deduction by donors according to current tax laws. For federal income tax purposes, the deductible amount of a charitable contribution is reduced by the value of the benefits received by the donor from the charitable organization. Old Dominion University provides these benefit values to all donors at the completion of each calendar year. The benefits chart (right) outlines all privileges and benefits of the club. Members of the Big Blue Club receive the right to purchase season tickets for home men's and women?s basketball in priority seating sections at the Old Dominion Fieldhouse, Norfolk Scope and for the 2002-03 season in the Constant Convocation Center. Seat location, number of tickets purchased and passes to the Big Blue Club hospitality room are based on the Big Blue membership level.
