Lady Monarch Pride, the support group for Lady Monarch basketball, is pleased to announce the establishment of the first Lady Monarch Pride endowed scholarship in an effort to assist in fully endowing the women's basketball program.
In hand is a contribution of $50,000 toward an endowed scholarship and the club is tasked with raising $50,000 in matching funds. Donations are being accepted now for the Lady Monarch Pride scholarship, with the goal of raising the funds by the completion of the 2006/07 basketball season. Leadership contributions begin at $5,000 and every dollar pledged helps the Lady Monarchs. All Lady Monarch fans are invited to join Lady Monarch Pride, with membership beginning with a minimum donation of $100 to the ODU Intercollegiate Foundation, restricted for Pride. Club meetings with coaches and players are held throughout the year, and Lady Monarch Pride sponsors an annual golf tournament and an end-of-year Recognition Banquet. Our goals are to support the Lady Monarch basketball program, through financial contributions and helping to increase attendance at home and away games. Please join the Big Blue Club today and designate your membership contribution to Lady Monarch Pride. Based on the level of your contribution, you will receive benefits in the Big Blue Club such as priority seating opportunities at games, and hospitality and parking privileges. We are challenging current Pride members to double your contribution this year by donating an equal amount to the Lady Monarch Pride scholarship, which will help us meet our $50,000 goal. To join Lady Monarch Pride, please send your contributions to the ODU Development Office, 129 Koch Hall, Norfolk, VA 23529. Please designate your contributions in excess of your Pride membership fee to the Lady Monarch Pride Scholarship Fund. Current and future Lady Monarch Pride members are invited to the first Pride meeting for the 2006-07 season with the players and coaches on Friday, October 13 from 6:00-6:50 p.m. in one of the meeting rooms at the Constant Convocation Center. The meeting will be followed by a team practice at 7:00 p.m. that is open to the public. Your attendance at games and your financial support are crucial to the success of our program. We appreciate all you have done in the past to support Lady Monarch basketball and hope you will help Lady Monarch Pride establish its first endowed scholarship. |
