Magazine rankings released earlier this week. It is the third time in four years of recruiting for Martin that his class is ranked among the top ten in the nation. The class was ranked 14th by W.I.N. in their early recruiting class rankings and bumped up to 9th with the signing of two NHSCA Sr. All-Americans and an NCAA Qualifier transfering in from Virginia Tech. more Wayne Gomes To Be Inducted Into the Lower Virginia Peninsula Hall Of Fame Wayne Gomes ('94), the Monarchs relief pitching ace who earned All-CAA honors and was a first round selection of the 1993 Major League baseball draft will be inducted into the 2008 Athletic Hall of Fame for the Lower Virginia Peninsula. He will be inducted on May 18 along with Ronald Curry, Frank Emanuel, Glenn "Skeeter" Heath, Jerry Holmes, and Herman "Bucky" Keller. The tenth annual induction banquet will be held at the Hampton Coliseum. The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a reception on the second level where the Hall of Fame is located, followed by dinner.
