The Old Dominion University basketball programs call the Intercollegiate Athletics Building home. From its spacious locker rooms, state-of-the-art training facilities, strength training room and beautiful practice gymnasium, the Intercollegiate Athletics Building provides the basketball programs with a first-class facility. Beginning with the basketball office and locker room complex, players and coaches enjoy the spacious confines of the coaches offices, theatre style team rooms utilized for video viewing, team meetings and study hall, a team lounge that provides a safe haven for visiting with teammates in a relaxed atmosphere or watching television. Adjacent to the team lounge is a spacious player locker room, with large built-in lockers for individual players that provide space for everything from shoes to hairdryers. Shower and bathroom facilities are located next to the locker room. The training room ranks as one of the top facilities in the nation, providing the best in modern rehabilitation equipment for athletic injuries. The seven-foot deep running pool, located in the hydrotherapy room, along with three whirlpools and one jacuzzi, provides Old Dominion athletes the opportunity to rehabilitate through exercise in the water. The room also includes nine training tables, a Kinkom rehabilitation machine and a traction table. Adjacent to the training room is the strength training room, built specifically for student-athlete use. The room includes the most up-to-date in nautilus and free weight equipment, all under the full-time supervision of a strength training coach. The Intercollegiate Athletics Building also houses the administrative staff including the athletic director, associate and assistant athletic directors, the offices of sports information, athletic marketing and promotions, and ticket office, which is conveniently located off the lobby for easy access. Other building features include an outdoor patio for receptions, a conference room, and men's and women's locker rooms for recreational use, located at the rear of the building with easy access to the recreational fields. The Intercollegiate Athletics Building is centrally located in the middle of the athletic quadrant of the campus that includes the 4,000-seat Soccer Stadium, the 2,500-seat Bud Metheny Baseball Complex, the Tennis Complex that includes 15 courts, including a 1,500-seat championship facility, the Old Dominion University Field house that is home to the soccer, wrestling, golf and swimming teams, and Foreman Field, a 20,000-seat stadium on campus that is home to field hockey and lacrosse. The Ted Constant Convocation Center, an 8,600 seat facility is the new home for the Old Dominion University basketball programs. Athletic Director Jim Jarrett says, "The ability to provide our student-athletes and fans with a state-of-the art, on campus basketball venue is the best statement the University can make regarding the priority placed on our basketball program. The excitement of a facility with the potential for great atmosphere and quality fan amenities that depicts the great tradition of Old Dominion University athletics is unparalleled in our program"
