Feb. 7, 2008

We would like to invite you and a guest/s to attend Old Dominion tennis appreciation night on Thursday, February 28 at the Old Dominion University Ted Constant Convocation Center, during the Old Dominion women's basketball game against George Mason. The women's basketball team is currently ranked #13 nationally. This special evening is compliments of the Old Dominion tennis program, athletic department, and development office.

We will offer you and your guest club level access and tickets with the opportunity to purchase up-scale concessions. Located on the third floor, the club level serves various alcoholic beverages, refreshments, food, and offers a quality social atmosphere while watching the Monarchs play basketball.

The tennis appreciation club seat area will be open at 6:00 pm and the basketball game will start at 7:00 pm.

Participants of the 2007 Hall Automotive Scholarship tournament hosted by the Virginia Beach Tennis & Country Club will be attending this function. In addition, alumni, contributors, and area tennis enthusiasts will be joining us.

Please RSVP by e-mailing Tennis Director, Darryl Cummings, at darryl@darrylcummings.com or calling (757) 683-3129. Let us know how many tickets you will need. Your tickets will be left at the will-call window at the Old Dominion University Ted Constant Convocation Center. If you already have game tickets you will still need to RSVP so we can leave club level tickets for you at the will-call window.

The 2007 Scholarship tennis tournament was the 34th year of this event and Sugie Jarrett has served as the tournament director for this event all 33 years. During the 2001 tennis appreciation night we surprised Sugie with the announcement of the Sugie Jarrett endowed athletic tennis scholarship. Over a 100 people have contributed to this endowment which stands at approximately $65,000. If you would like to contribute to the growth of this very special endowment please send contributions to:
