Garduno second after second round of the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL-- Old Dominion University junior Alexis Garduno shot an 81 today and is now in second place at the 22nd PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship-women's independent division. Garduno is at 160 after 36 holes and is two strokes behind second round leader Sara Young from Florida State who is at 158 after shooting a 76 today. Lady Monarch teammate Deztany Jackson is sixth with a 186. She shot a 94 today. Nearly 200 contestants from 47 colleges and universities, representing 14 countries comprised this year's field. The 54-hole stroke-play championship consists of four divisions. The individual tournament is open to contestants of African American, Hispanic-American, Native or Alaskan American, and Asian heritage.
